Tear Jerkers - A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole

There are books out there that will completely break your heart and leave you a muddled mess. One of those books happens to be A Thousand Book Kisses by Tillie Cole.

This book is what I consider a young adult, there is no spicy scenes, its focus is on genuine love for another human no matter how old you are, and once you find that love, you hold on to it. There is a spiritual theme that flows throughout the book, but it is not heavy handed. For me I related to this under current theme and liked the way it was woven within the story.

The entire book focuses on two characters, Rune and Poppy, who have known each other since they were little kids when Rune moved in next door they became instant best friends. The reader follows them through the years until Rune's family moves to Norway (place of origin) and he becomes a shell of himself. Poppy disappears for two years, with no explanation and Rune is no longer the Rune Poppy once knew.

I went into reading this book knowing I would shed tears, I just didn't realize how much. I did find it predictable but there is nothing wrong with predictable. The ending was beautifully written and the epilogue was enough to round out the story.

I am being very vague about this book because I don't want to give to much of the story line away. It is one of those books that you have read without knowing to much about it and make up your own mind. Its captivating and worth the read and feelings later.
